I wrote a howto some time ago (January 2006) and never even thought about announcing it here until today. Its about using cell phones on linux and covers moto4lin and kmobiletools-4.3.x extensively. The OS being used was Gentoo. It also covers creating udev rules that makes setting your phone device up for even non-root users very simple. A lot of people have commented on the article which is 12 pages long.
